1. Information We Collect

PickMagpie is designed to minimize data collection. We collect:

• Chat messages: The text you send to our AI, used only to generate product recommendations. Messages are not stored long-term.
• Anonymous fingerprint cookie: A randomly-generated identifier used solely to enforce free-tier usage limits. It does not track you across websites.
• IP address + user-agent: Used for rate limiting and security. Never shared with third parties.
• Click events: When you click an affiliate link, Amazon may set its own cookies per its privacy policy.

2. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the platform:

• Anthropic Claude: Processes your chat messages to generate responses. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Rainforest / Amazon: Fetches product data. Your personal data is never sent to these services.
• Upstash Redis: Stores anonymous rate-limit counters (hashed identifiers only).

3. Amazon Associates Disclosure

PickMagpie is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link and buy a product, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

4. Cookies

We use one first-party cookie (spk_fp) for free-tier quota enforcement. It contains a random HMAC-signed identifier and is marked HttpOnly + SameSite=Lax. No third-party analytics or tracking cookies are set by PickMagpie itself.

5. Your Rights

You may clear cookies at any time. We do not maintain personal profiles, so GDPR “right to erasure” requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser state. To contact us, email privacy@pickmagpie.com.
